Hey all, Can you share your ME3 Citadel DLC squadmate builds? If it changes anything, I’m currently playing a Sentinel class, focused on biotics. I’m still in the middle of the DLC, but I kind Saren appears to have discovered a cure for the genophage and is breeding an army of krogan. Wrex is furious that Captain Kirrahe wants to destroy the cure. The Captain is worried about Wrex’s state of mind and doesn’t want to continue if Wrex is going to be a problem. This assignment is automatically gained after reaching the salarian camp only if Wrex is available You will always have to sacrifice either Ashley or Kaidan. It is possible for your entire crew to survive in ME2. In ME3, either Wrex/Mordin, Legion, and Thane will always die. Those are the deaths that are unavoidable.

Not recruiting Garrus removes future references of ME1 and you’re less initially buddy, but then ME3 assumes buddyhood as long as he survives ME2. Not recruiting Wrex treats him as dead (? perhaps not all times). He’s replaced by his brother Wreav in future games, one more aggressive about Krogan expansion. TLDR: You can’t avoid Liara forever. Much like a lot of other teammates, in order to recruit Wrex to your squad, you need to finish a specific mission in Mass Effect Legendary Edition. The only difference with Wrex, compared to other squad mates, is that he is actually missable and if you don’t complete his unique quest in time, you won’t be able to do so for the rest of your playthrough. As one of the With ME2 it felt like you almost had too many people to choose from. ME1 felt like there was a good number of choices because you dont want to overburden players with a myriad of new characters to learn about, but for ME3 I would have been happy with a squad of 8-9, minus those lost in the Suicide Mission from ME2.

Imported into ME3 and realized Miranda was doomed cause of no romance in ME2 (don’t remember what the deal was here). Finally finished early this year and picked the synthesis option. Wreav dies if Wrex is alive and even if Wrex dies, there is no doubt in my mind the next leader will be Grunt. The only one after Wrex to have slain a thresher maw. As long as it’s not a super old version, either the me2 editor or ME3 editor can flag him alive with a simple toggle. It should be under something like plot->me1 plot flags. Wrex not being a teammates actually made sense though from a narrative point of view. What disappointed me was not having Miranda as a squadmate, when we fight Cerberus more than the Reapers in me3. If you don’t recruit Wrex in ME1, he won’t be a clan leader in ME2 nor make an appearance in ME3. In that case he probably survives regardless of what happens to Mordin.

My only gripe is the lack character interaction from ME2 to ME3 and the lack of wrex or krogan squad mates in general in your squad. So, assuming the Genophage cure is sabotaged, what happens to the Krogan? I usually spare Wrex in ME1, save Maelon’s data in ME2, and in ME3 sabotage the cure. Seems counter intuitive, but there is a method to the madness. Sparing Wrex in ME1 provides the Krogan with Wrex’s plans in ME2, which IMO is the best path forward for the Krogan.
