I’ve been playing the game since late 2013 and I always enjoyed having a variety of maps (game modes) to pick from, then one by one they got removed and all we have left are Summoner’s Rift and Howling Abyss, the latter not having the option to pick your champion. So there is only 1 map where you have official matchmaking and you’re allowed to pick your champion. League’s dev tools are designed and optimized for Summoner’s Rift, so creating and maintaining a new mode is often like jamming a square peg into a round hole.
