Hi folks Im coming up to contract end shortly and will probably not continue with my entertainment only package.I have recently purchased a new LG 4K smart tv with freesat tuner i was wondering whether i can use my exising dish and box with a Freesat card being sold on Ebay.as sky dont sell them any Hybrid LNB Hybrid LNB’s work with our new 4K Box as well as older Freesat Boxes, letting you record up to four shows at the same time. You will need to ensure that your Box is plugged into the Wideband outputs of a Hybrid LNB. This will show up on the Box as “Wideband LNB” Some Hybrid LNBs do not have dedicated Wideband outputs. Hello All, Due to the recent BBC standard definition switch off, my incredibly old Sky box can no longer receive the affected BBC channels. I have neve been a Sky subscriber or owned a viewing card etc. Can I use a DRX890 box without anything other than electrickery and a dish, signal cables
Can I Use Sky Dish for Freesat?
Freesat is a free-to-air digital satellite television platform developed by the BBC and ITV plc. The service launched on May 6th 2008 and offerers an alternative to Sky Digital , offering a selection of channels available without subscription. When Sky Q first came out this was the only option, but you can have one satellite dish feeding your Sky Q box and another feeding all of your Sky and Freesat boxes. You many need to choose this option if you used to have a Octo LNB feeding multiple satellite points around your property that you want to keep.

What can I do with the old Sky Box? Also, Do I need to contact a specialist to remove the wire that leads to the Sky Dish through the wall? Many thanks.
This is my first post. I have a Sky satellite dish left in situ by previous tenants with all the wiring intact and two wires indoors. I’ve read that I could connect the Sky dish to a freesat box. I have a freesat Manhattan box. The Sky set up has two cables. The Manhattan box has only one port for a cable. First up I don’t know if it’s even allowed to use the Sky cabling for this On the Sky+ HD box front, if you leave it disconnected for 6-7 months from just before contract end date they stop sending out the account/ recording disable signals containing your box serial number. The box can then still record without a sky card or subscription. Would recommend turning off while not in use though in case they ever retransmit old serial numbers.
Welcome to the Sky+ discussions board. Here you’ll find the latest discussions from members asking questions about Sky+ Even though 4K (Ultra HD) and HDR are the big TV buzzwords in recent years, some Sky customers have been unable to even watch content in High Definition (HD), having to either pay to upgrade their boxes, or for the HD pack add-on. Now, a few changes are afoot. As we reported last month, Sky customers who are still using old SD-only TV boxes, can now It will operate exactly as your old Sky system did – including the same EPG with the Sky branding and numbering. Freesat is different service using more or less the same signals from the same satellites that Sky uses except it does not have the decoding software and subscription card that Sky use to get you to pay for their paid services. If you’re thinking about moving from Sky TV to Freesat you can use the same satellite dish! The dish you have will affect how many channels you can record at once on your 4K TV Box.“ Hi,. I have a new Manhattan SX Freesat box that I want to connect to an existing sky+ dish. A couple of questions please.
The best way to record TV
We recently got upgraded to Sky Q, and kept the HD box. Now we are cancelling Sky TV because they’ve hiked the prices for TV. But can I still use the +HD box as a general freeview/Freesat box, no payed channels?

Had a new sky hd box installed today. Need to pair our viewing card please I am posting some general notes for people considering switching from SKY + or SKY HD to SKY Q Like many, many users, I am glad I upgraded over 6 years ago now, but I think there are some points that existing SKY + / SKY HD users should note: Installation & Free Installation offers When SKY do offer free (or cheap) installation for existing customers they
Hi, how do I request a Freesat viewibf card ?Sky no longer sell them. You don’t need any Viewing Card to watch the free to air channels, but you won’t be able to record them. For anything more than that you would need Sky Stream or Sky Q, with a monthly subscription.
SKY+HD contract ends soon can I use my box with a freesat user card, without having sky subscription The Sky Q box requires a Wideband LNB, however this is not compatible with many Freesat receivers. The only one I’m aware that does claim to support Wideband LNB is the Arris 4K Freesat box. However if the LNB that was fitted was a „hybrid“, it may have 2 Wideband ports and 2 standard ports. I have a Sky Q running happily with a hybrid LNB, with an old SKY
1.) I have a full SKY package and SkyPlus. My main TV has Freeview built in so how do I access the FreeHD channels?
Since the OP says they have sky q the equipment will need to be returned (sky send you a clever box to parcel it up in) but to then use freesat you need to change the LNB back to a non Q one.
Answered: ive had a furious argument with sky over the phone today, right now ive got a sky plus hd box,the other day i heard they were closing down Hello, Due to big increases in sky costs I am considering a move to freesat. I’ve seen some posts about certain Sky Q dishes not working with freesat. Can anyone confirm whether I will have problems with my sky q dish? Image attached as I’ve no idea how to identify which one I have. Many thanks

Sky & Freesat TV in Spain‘No signal’ fault – If your Sky box has this message, it may not be correct. If the Sky box does not see the one boot up frequency of 11778 V, then it declares ‘no signal’ all Free to air (generic designed to be used worldwide), if one or two frequencies are weak, the box will boot up, but with missing channels. Skybox, may not allow you to boot. I don’t need a decoder box to view most freeview/sat channels. There is an issue with BBC HD channels and also ITV HD channels that they don’t descramble properly, but I just either watch the non-HD channel or use iPlayer. Previous to this TV, I used an old Sky HD box without a sub and basically got lots of freesat channels. Zero It should work if you have the Sky+ HD since it is compatible with the L ow-Noise Block (LNB) downconverter with the Freesats and for Q with a Hybrid LNB, however usually engineer will replace LNB entirely if you wont use freesat with Q only. So yes you should still be able to enjoy your shows on your Freesat dish on Sky +. Note however, that Sky+HD is an

Hi and thanks to all of you who replied to my question.I take the point that buying a freesat sky card from e bay would be a futile exercise, but can anyone advise me whether there would be a an epg available, viewing freesat without the freesat boX?as ive heard from a different souece that the Satell
