This is my first post. I have a Sky satellite dish left in situ by previous tenants with all the wiring intact and two wires indoors. I’ve read that I could connect the Sky dish to a freesat box. I have a freesat Manhattan box. The Sky set up has two cables. The Manhattan box has only one port for a cable. First up I don’t know if it’s even allowed to use the Sky cabling for this On the Sky+ HD box front, if you leave it disconnected for 6-7 months from just before contract end date they stop sending out the account/ recording disable signals containing your box serial number. The box can then still record without a sky card or subscription. Would recommend turning off while not in use though in case they ever retransmit old serial numbers.

Since the OP says they have sky q the equipment will need to be returned (sky send you a clever box to parcel it up in) but to then use freesat you need to change the LNB back to a non Q one.
