I’ll venture a guess that your guitar is a Höfner Model 4890 ‚Blue Grass‘ from around the early-mid 80’s (I might be wrong). I don’t know what happened at Höfner during 1984-1986 specifically. It might just be that the source that the serial numbers were pulled from didn’t cover (or didn’t have access to) these particular years. Maybe ask the Höfner company directly. Hope this helps.
