Also in Shadowlands, Bolvar again confirms they were still in the Helm at least to an extent. Where is this mentioned? I didn’t play Shadowlands, but Bolvar’s wiki page makes no mention of this. Then there is the iconic Arthas pose did during the cinematic, with Shalamyne replacing Frostmoune in the shot.

No level scaling is going to close that gap. What happened offscreen wasn’t a retcon. Scourge were there. Horde and Alliance teamed up after Shadowlands to fight back. And things are fine for the most part now. Story progression is not a retcon.

So, taking into consideration both battle at Angrathar and Bolvar becoming new Lich King what exactly happened to him during that Wrathgate event ? Did he die there and was resurrected by dragons‘ flame, or maybe fire made him „live“ in between life and death. Was he taken by the Arthas as undead or just badly burned by dragons‘ fire ? I don’t think it has been I’m not real far into Shadowlands yet so if this is explained during the story just disregard this. I was wondering what is stopping the scourge from doing its whole rampage thing now? It got me thinking, who all is aware of what happened to Bolvar at the end of WoTLK? I know Tirion Fordring knew but he got merc-ed in Legion, so I’m curious if anyone knows who else, besides the player characters that were there

I’ve played Shadowlands a little bit at the end so I am not familiar with much that happened in that expansion. I am now levelling my second character in Dragonflight (after a 6 month break). I’m a As we all know, Terenas tells Tirion that there must always be a Lich King so Bolvar takes up the responsibility of Lich King to control the scourge on Azeroth. My question is if Bolvar is still the Lich King and is he still the one maintaining control over the scourge or did that all end when Sylvanas shattered the Helm?
