Walking Animation Not Working After Cutscene

I’ve tried multiple mods, like pristine movement, leviathan for females and vanargard for females. I’ve run nemesis and FNIS (not right after each other, obv, just tried one then the other.) We just created center in the examples group, which is a function that takes two arguments: cutscene and event. cutscene is the cutscene object, and event is the event object, aka what triggered the cutscene.

So basically, I have a character smoking a cigarette off to the side during this cutscene. Switch #0018 changes his event, so that he stamps out the cigarette, and then #0019 gives him his standard sprite with the full walking animation. The movement route is fine. No obstructions. But when I I deactivated all mods and this is still happening what do I do? I have tried TCL command and the TGM neither work my feet wont respond
It happens mostly during cutscenes or even when i have my character taking cover in the middle of a mission. The game just stops – i am no longer able to enter into any menu’s by pressing esc, my character stops performing any actions and the background keeps running. I’m relatively new to animations, so this may be something simple I’m missing. I’m trying to attach a PlayerWalk animation to AI, but they’re just walking in-place. Every single cutscene in Black Heaven and Heroes of Maple is broken. So many of these cutscenes are integral to the story and they’ve just been left abandoned and broken on GMS for years on end.
