We want to thank you all for your support here in reporting bugs, and providing feedback on both Subnautica and Below Zero, during the course of Early Access and beyond.

The Spark SDK is the package which includes the level editor and other tools for Natural Selection 2, which we’ve made available to everyone who pre-orders the game.
For me Spark 2 as an engine was more than sufficient in terms of rendering technology. Moreover people might argue that lightweight ‚tools‘ like gamemaker already offer accessible game building environments but they completely miss the point making it social and gamey experience.
Many people seemed interested to learn more about the Spark Engine. Is it just the Editor? Or the entire game? Lead engine programmer Max answers these questions and gives some cool insight into how the programming workload is divided up at Unknown Worlds

Unknown Worlds is the developer of Natural Selection 2: a hybrid RTS/FPS game available now on Steam and Green Man Gaming.
If you’re wondering about the lighting, that’s done with a whole bunch of light_spots at odd angles and point lights behind grates. Assuming NS2 is just moderately successful I also think UWE will have a lot of success selling Spark, once optimized, as they shown how fast and easy it is to create games using Spark. With both NS2 and Spark as products I anyway, I’m really surprised no one cares about this classic old series Ultima Underworlds 1 and 2 were done by Looking Glass and are therefore ancestors of Deus Ex, both in plot and engine. I always point out that the games came before Doom 1 and yet they had things like looking up and down, non-right-angle walls, bridges, slopes, 3D objects
