Abstract An accounting information system (AIS) is a method of keeping track of a company’s accounting and commercial activities. The purpose of this research is to look into the role of the accounting information system (AIS) in increasing performance efficiency (PE). In today’s competitive market, SMEs need to realize that accounting information system (AIS) can enhance management control effectiveness (MCE) – one of the areas necessary for their survival and success. This paper aimed to measure the influence of AIS success on MCE among SMEs of Yemen, a less developed country, as research and knowledge are very limited Though, this study was initiated to evaluate the importance of accounting information in small and medium scale business, no gain saying that, accounting information plays a positive role in the integrity of the decisions as well asthe success of the small scale business.
