Surface type cover suddenly not working I have read a few posts and tried most of the solutions however nothing has worked so far. Please help if you can. The issue: I detached my keyboard for about an hour to read and when i reattached it no longer works. My second hand Surface Pro 4 refuses to take any external USB peripheral (apart from the type cover), always coming up with the message: „The last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned and Windows does not recognise it“. It will recognise USB flash/ disk drives fine. All the peripherals work fine on my main PC. The type cover firmware death is a long time known issue, affecting thousands of Surface users. Seems that MS does not care at all about it. I have a SP3 and a SP4, a type3 cover and a type4 one, there is no way to make them work in any combination. Tried everything and nothing helps. So it My Surface Pro Type cover has stopped working a few days ago for no apparent reason. I have spent hours on this , cleaning the port, rebooting in UFI, reinstalling windows from the Recovery Image, updating Windows to its latest version, following every possible advise I could find about this

I don’t know what happened. I turned my Surface Pro 4 on the other day and the type cover is dead. No lights. No response. No indication that it’s working at all. I rarely take my surface anywhere.
