I was thinking on the Denon DL-110 since its in my price range. I currently have a Grado Blue on my Dual which I can move over to the Marantz but eventually I want to put the Grado on my Yamaha YP-450 and something nice on the Used Denon DL-160 MC phono cartridges for sale on 400+ second hand hifi sites & shops. Review: Denon DL-110 Cartridge
I just received my Denon DL-160 MC phono cart today. Just installed and I am listening to the first LP. The cart is installed on a Technics 1301 for now (office system) but the cart will later be installed on a Denon 47F that is part of my main system. Lets start with what I
Art Dudley returned to the DL-103 in December 2007 (Vol.30 No.12): In 1962, when tennis rackets were made of wood, newspeople were known for challenging the government, and the off-Broadway musical The Fantasticks was in its second year (the show closed in 2002), Nippon Columbia’s Denki Onkyo (or Den-On) division introduced to the professional audio While delving through my stash of phono cartridges came across this Denon DL 110 high output phono cartridge. And yet, Denon’s cartridges seem to have a tremendous following among a certain set of people. In Europe and Asia, for example, the flagship DL-S1 is highly prized, as is the classic DL-103. On ebay, it seems like there’s always a DL-110 or DL-160 for sale. REVIEW: Denon DL-160 Phono Cartridge – TimB5881 – Vinyl AsylumThe bass is very taught and has very nice decay. The rythyme is presented as good as the Shure, maybe a touch better. The mids are in the league of near excellence , not as good as my Koetsu Black, not as lush as it is, but very excellent detaile, and cooler than the Black, but it is far from cool or cold. It is warmer

I have had the Denon DL110 for 15 years now, and have found it to be very good for the money. I just recently aquired a DL160 cartridge. I am even more impressed with this one. The detail is better , not ultra high price better, but much better that the $180.00 tag suggest it should be. It has been mounted on my Rega P25/RB600 table, replacing a Shure V15VMR that
Denon has been designing cartridges for over six decades. The DL-110 is still handspun in our Shirakawa Audio Works factory in Japan. I hope my fear than Denon is going to discontinue these two is unfounded. The sudden shortage of DL-160’s has me worried. Had I been able to get that one for less than $150, I probably would have. As it is, this little cartridge is pure bliss, so far. My afternoon listening today (with wife auditioning) has been mellow stuff with some detail: Dr. John–Gris-Gris Van

The sadly discontinued Denon DL-160 had a big, smooth sound I dearly miss (though its little brother, the DL-110, is still available and offers a similar character). I’ve got a good line on a used Creek OBH-18 MM preamp (upgrading over my Pro-ject Phonobox II). I hear a lot that the DL-160 is a high output for MC cartridges (~2.2v, despite the 1.6v published spec), and because of that, is well suited
