I just beat the game today on ng+ while defeating Logarius on my first try (totally skipped Cainhurst on my first playthrough). But I’m confused why we go there and it’s impact on the overall lore regarding the great ones and what have you.
Martyr Logarius Boss Fight – Bloodborne’s Spell-Slinging Menace This episode is all about the brutal showdown with Martyr Logarius at the top of Cainhurst Castle. The dude is a nightmare
This Cainhurst-Vileblood-Pthumerian connection is even hinted in the soundtrack, with both Logarius and Yharnam boss fights sharing the same soundtrack, titled ”Queen of the Vilebloods”. The soundtrack is referring to both Annalise and Yharnam, both being queens of the Vileblood lineage, the old bloodline. Well, those skulls Executioner’s Gloves send are same that Logarius himself shoots at you. Also Logarius‘ Wheel has (when transformed) the very same red mist stuff in it. Maybe those damn Vilebloods just stripped the gloves off from some Executioner’s corpse and nobles used them for their own purposes. Reply Maddog_The_Madlad •

This covers Alfred’s entire quest-line and goes deep into the history of Yharnam, Bygenwerth, Healing Church, The Choir, Cainhurst Castle, Willem, Logarius, Queen Annalise, and especially the The great thing about „Queen of the Vilebloods“ being used for Martyr Logarius and Yharnam, Pthumerian Queen is it adds to the pile of small lore connections between the Vilebloods and the Pthumerians. By the time you find her, she’s the only Vileblood left (aside from Arianna, though Arianna doesn’t seem as concerned with Vileblood honor as Annalise), and she’s been imprisoned by the mask as well as by Logarius outside her chamber; the way that Annalise talks about the mask implies that it binds her to her prison and prevents her from escape as effectively as Logarius does. Alfred’s

Martyr Logarius said: “Right or wrong and wisdom or folly have nothing to do with each other. That is why we alone should simply be good.” Put simply, Executioners adopted the clothes of the now defunct Holy Blades. The riveted gloves layered over the robes are the one “unique design” of the Executioners’ make. Alfred thought Logarius was capable to kill every vileblood but failed to kill Annalise. And one odd thing about Alfred is that he never truly accepted that Logarius couldn’t fulfill his mission in killing every vileblood; that his holy master was one vileblood away from becoming a true martyr. Martyr Logarius is a supporting antagonist and optional boss in the 2015 videogame Bloodborne. Logarius was once the head of the Executioners, a Lore So this is a question about his lore, or lack thereof possibly. I know Logarius led the Executioners in a raid on Cainhurst castle, trapped the queen within an illusion prison so no one could ever reach her and he stayed behind while his Executioners escaped, becoming her warden. But when you reach him he’s some type of Lich Alfred believes that Logarius didn t achieve martyrdom because he couldn t actually kill the Vileblood Queen, but I think otherwise. IMHO, Logarius couldn`t be a true martyr because he used vileblood. Here is my line of thought.

Defeating Martyr Logarius in Bloodborne will bring in 25,600 Blood Echoes and he drops the Crown of Illusions. Make sure to wear the Crown and walk to the far end of the boss’s arena where his throne is. A cutscene will play, revealing the location and the throne of Annalise, Queen of the Vilebloods. Interacting with her will unlock the option to join the Cainhurst Vilebloods Reading the description on the Executioner’s Gloves it gives me the impression that it doesn’t relate to the church’s Executioners of Logarius at all. It seems to me that it is indeed a relic of Cainhurst, maybe of the Vilebloods themselves specifically. The Logarius‘ Wheel has a very similar effect to the executioner’s gloves, but again, the description of the Wheel seems to So is there a difference between Martyr Logarius and Master Logarius? Because Alfred talks about learning to be an executioner from master logarius but when you go to cainhurst, logarius is the boss you fight protecting the queen of the vilebloods.
So I was watching Let’s Talk Lore series by Aegon of Astora. He mentioned that Martyr Logarius is possibly a Pthumerian. I was sort of dismissive at first, then more I thought about it, the more sense it made sense. Because Martyr Logarius’s Arcane/ghost magic really came out of nowhere. Before, I thought it might refers to how mystic art exists outside of yharnam.
