Pt When Did Obi-Wan And Yoda Find Out Palpatine Was The Emperor?.
Di: Ava
The Jedi, around the time Obi-Wan and Grievous duelled on Utapau, also dispatched Skywalker to gauge Palpatine’s motives by his reaction, although they secretly suspect that Palpatine was involved in a plot to destroy the Jedi due to the Dark Side surrounding him.
In the OT, Yoda and Obi-Wan clearly saw the fate of the galaxy resting in defeating Darth Vader. Luke’s final trial was to destroy Vader, and ghost Obi says that otherwise, “The Emperor has already won.” Why weren’t they more focused on going after Palpatine himself? The Skirmish in the Senate was a confrontation that took place in 19 BBY between the Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Sidious and the Jedi Grand Master
Did Obi Wan realize Dooku told him the truth on Geonosis?
Darth Vader and Emperor Palpatine used Sith Inquisitors and other evil tools to track down Jedi, but never could catch Yoda and Obi-Wan. While everyone remembers Anakin’s fight against Obi-Wan, the battle between Yoda and Palpatine was just as important. If Palpatine was slain, then his new Empire would likely crumble before it even properly began. And Yoda was likely the best Jedi to face him down, even if their fight ended in a draw. However, Palpatine was well aware that Yoda got away, so why
Couldn’t Yoda and Obi Wan gone to tackle the Emperor? He has to be dealt with to restore the Old Republic that existed hours before. Even if you kill Anakin, it’s pointless in the sense that in reality, Palpatine is Emperor and ruler of the Galaxy. But even then, what could the Jedi do at that point? I’ve scoured a lot of material, including Wookieepedia, but I can’t find any indication that they ever knew just what Palpatine used as his bait to lure him over. Obi-Wan says to Luke that it was because he chose the quick and easy path to power, but nothing about saving his loved ones from dying, making this just sound like an assumption on Obi-Wan’s part and him having no Yoda knew that Sidious was far beyond Obi-Wan’s capabilities. Obi-Wan participating in the fight against Sidious wouldn’t really help Yoda much, but Obi-Wan could easily die in the fight. Thus, there was no need to risk Obi-Wan’s life against Sidious. However, while Obi-Wan would not be much help against Sidious, he would be uniquely suited to tracking down and taking out
Did Vader tell Palpatine exactly what happened, or did he omit the part where Obi-Wan disappeared? I don’t think it is likely that the Emperor would have known exactly what had happened, but perhaps Vader wanted to project confidence that Obi-Wan was defeated and would no longer be a problem. It’s pretty clear that the galaxy at large did NOT know Palpatine was a Sith during his reign, although a few high-ranking Imperials were either in on the secret or figured it out themselves. We can also presume that Rebel leadership was aware through Bail Organa, who rescued Yoda after his duel with Palpatine and would have been brought up to speed. But it doesn’t seem like the
There’s twins? Wonderful, Palpatine will take them both at the same time! Such is the unstoppable tide of the Dark Side! The Emperor defeated Grandmaster Yoda, and Yoda had nine hundred years to master the Force. So what could one weak human dickhead nobody possibly hope to master to stop him in a fraction of that time? Reply reply
In Revenge of the Sith, Yoda and Obi-Wan split up to confront Palpatine and Skywalker in single-combat. However, with the millions of lives at stake, and the obvious power of the Emperor with his i This is actually noted in the novelization. Palps deliberately had Shaak Ti injured, and Obi-Wan and Yoda on the ass side of the galaxy so Mace couldn’t have proper duelists to assist him.

But how did Chancellor Palpatine know that Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan would be forced to land on Tatooine? How did they know that while they were there they would encounter Anakin? They didn’t. Palpatine never knew about Anakin prior to the battle of Naboo.
What was their endgame? They kept mentioning that Luke had to fight Vader, but what about the Emperor? Was it Obi-Wan and Yoda’s plan for Luke to kill Vader, then kill Palpatine? They must have realized that Luke was no match for
*Posting from and expanding on another discussion* There are many similarities between father and son but their journeys ultimately run
Lucas himself gave power levels to jedi and sith at various points. Pretty sure in the ROTS he said that at that time Yoda, Sidious, and Vader (pre suit) were a 9. He also said only Yoda and Mace can handle Sidious so I think that implies Mace is a 9 as well. He also clearly said that Obi-Wan was an 8 during ROTS. So let’s take a stab at what various characters‘ power If we get an Obi-Wan movie, maybe we’ll find out more about when he and Yoda knew and his relationship with Owen and Beru. Speaking of Obi-Wan, if he had showed up in A New Hope and killed the Tusken Raiders that attacked Luke before we knew anything about the Jedi, I don’t think the audience would have thought it was wrong at all.
Obi-Wan would be dead giving the Emperor another Jedi body to show the senate they tried to assassinate him, solidifying their message to the republic the Jedi were taking over. Yoda probably won’t be able to find Anakin since he isn’t close Given their fighting skills in the prequels, it seems odd that Yoda and Obi-Wan Kenobi should decide to wait for the Skywalker kids to grow up. Shortly after the Episode III, it seems like they could have dispatched Vader and the Emperor all by themselves. Obi-Wan had better lightsaber skills than Anakin, so surely he could best Darth Vader. Yoda fought Palpatine Maybe that was the eventual plan, but Leia’s interference got Luke trained by Obi Wan and Yoda before Palpatine could do so.
There is proof of it at the end of Episode 2 when Obi-Wan asks Yoda whether they can believe what Dooku said about the senate or not. Yoda doesn’t put much stock in, in the movie, but they keep an eye on it, and investigate as indicated in the other answers.
Why were Yoda and Obi-Wan so focused on Vader, not Palpatine?
At no point during any of Anakin’s training did anyone but Obi Wan try to help him manage his emotions, navigate the council, of handle any of the other crap the Jedi council threw at him. You’d think if Yoda and the other Jedi masters were so concerned about Anakin’s future they would’ve done more to help him not turn to the If Maul has killed Obi-Wan, would the Jedi be any closer to identifying Maul as a Sith? So Obi-Wan, who has the low ground wins, because Palpatine needs him too. Palpatine has just won the Chancellorship and has no time to train or attend to 9 year old Anakin, having the Jedi train Anakin, is the perfect solution to this problem.

- Why couldn’t the Jedi detect Senator Palpatine as having powers?
- In Revenge of the Sith, why didn’t Obi-Wan and Yoda gang up on the Emperor?
Palpatine has spread every Jedi out of Corusant especially the 2 most powerful Yoda and Obi-Wan. Mace had no choice but to bring the other 3 who were also powerful. Yoda and Obi Wan wanted Luke to kill Darth Vader and the Emperor. What makes no sense to me is that they wanted Luke to kill Palpatine. When Yoda was training Luke on Dagobah, we never saw Luke being trained in combat. Yoda never taught Luke about Force duels, or how to use the Force against your enemy in a fight.
In Return of the Jedi, when trying to sneak into the base on a shuttle, Luke said he senses Darth Vader’s presence and said he shouldn’t have come lest he jeopardize the mission. Darth Vader also sensed Luke, but let him in anyways. Also, Yoda and Obi-Wan could detect the Force in young Anakin. So if Jedi and Sith can detect each other, why couldn’t they detect Senator Palpatine didn’t plan on Obi-Wan severely injuring Anakin. It’s unclear if he planned on Padme dying, could be that he didn’t plan on it but there’s the whole theory about how Padme’s life force was drained to save Anakin so it was more of a plan B
Obi-Wan Kenobi is one of Star Wars‘ most iconic characters, we took a look back at the Kenobi’s life and how he fits in to the Star Wars saga. Obi-Wan beat Anakin because of several reasons, one; it’s because Obi-Wan is one of the greatest sword master in the entire Jedi Order, easily one of the top 3, Windu said that no one is as good as Kenobi when it comes to Soresu style, that includes Yoda and himself. So he is a very skilled swordsman, especially during the late Clone Wars if not early Clone Wars
Palpatine isn’t obsessed with revenge like Vader is. Palpatine is a calculating manipulator. He could care less about whether any one Jedi is dead or alive, as long as they’re out of his way. The Inquisitorious effectively made sure the galaxy was no longer safe for Jedi to operate out in the open, meaning their effectiveness was diminished. Plus, if Yoda did come back, I would
Obi-Wan Kenobi was a legendary Force-sensitive human male Jedi Master who served on the Jedi High Council during the final years of the Republic Era. As a High Jedi General, Kenobi served in the Grand Army of the Republic that fought against the Separatist Droid Army during the Clone Wars, and was nicknamed „the Negotiator.“ Kenobi, however, was forced into exile as a Order 66, also known as Clone Protocol 66, Protocol 66, or simply „the Order,“ was one of top-secret contingency orders that identified all Jedi as traitors to the Galactic Republic and, therefore, subject to summary execution by the Grand Army of the Republic. The order was programmed into the Grand Army clone troopers through behavioral modification biochips implanted in their
Yoda & Palpatine/Obi-Wan & Anakin Skywalker Duel scene
Qui Gon Jinn was able to communicate to the jedi (or yoda at least) after his death and before ROTS. After he died he would have known that Palpatine was Sidious and the clones would betray the jedi, so why didn’t he warn them? Obi Wan told Padme that Palpatine was the Sith lord they’ve been looking for and was behind the war. I would like to think that Yoda and Obi Wan told Bail, and then he would eventually tell Mothma since they were some of the founders of the rebellion. Collecting evidence would be helpful, but I doubt it would have made much difference after he declared himself
