RE: PrusaSlicer won’t create support structures Check to make sure Print Settings->Support material->Options for support material and raft->Support on build plate only is not checked. Looking at your screen, it does look as if it’s set to „Everywhere“ (Ueberall). If you save your part and settings off in a 3MF project file, zip it, and attach it to a reply here, we can offer
PrusaSlicer Organic Supports Image Courtesy of Prusa 3D via Twitter Organic supports might be one of the most awaited features in PrusaSlicer for a long time. These are similar to Cura’s Tree Supports, and PrusaSlicer has recently announced that they’re currently testing out this functionality for the PrusaSlicer 2.6 release. RE: PrusaSlicer 2.6.0-alpha4 is out! Organic supports is cool. The supports in the below print are hollow, though, so that they are just hollow columns. Failed print. Is there a way to have the organic support have a fill so that they are more stable? Can’t figure out The latest PrusaSlicer alpha allows you to paint directly on your model and determine where to create (and where to block) support material and generate it for your model.

The alpha version of PrusaSlicer 2.6 is now available – new Organic supports, the Text tool, the improved Cut tool, the new Measurement tool, and more. Okay, any examples of ironing IMPROVING prints? I’ve tried the new ironing feature a few times (less than a handful) and have been consistently unimpressed. I’m curious if folks have any examples of it improving their prints and for what kind of models I should expect an improvement. Here’s an example from when I tried it again this afternoon. I thought I had the
This is very exciting news! I also hope that tree supports are somewhere down the line. I used to use Cura exclusively with other printers, but since I have the Prusa, this slicer program just works perfectly. It’s always getting updated and worked on. How to use PrusaSlicer’s Paint On Supports
Just got my first 3D printer this weekend and I’ve been experimenting with it. A friend mentioned I should try tree supports but I can’t figure out how to turn it on. A few posts and Youtube videos said to go into „print settings“ and select „organic“, but I’m not seeing any such option in my copy of PrusaSlicer 2.6.1. Can anyone tell me what I’m doing wrong? RE: PrusaSlicer 2.6.0-alpha2 Is out! Organic supports are not currently compatible with variable layer height. Your screen capture indicates you are using them. If you read the release notes – The Organic supports currently pose the following limitations: For large models with a lot of supports, 16GB RAM minimum is recommended. Top / bottom vertical separation

RE: Top layer smoothness I think, what you are looking for is ironing – Cure and Super Slicer supports ironing and the upcoming PrusaSlicer 2.3.0 will support ironing. The technique in ironing is that the top layer is smooth out with a very thin layer of filament and making many passes close to each other – just like when ironing. RE: How to turn on/off ironing and set parameters in SuperSlicer 2.2.53? Super Slicer implemented ironing before PS did in 2.3. In the older versions of SuSie you had to select Print Settings>Infill>Infill settings and select type ‚ironing‘ from the drop down for External patterns for it to actually use it. It then has settings for Width and Distribution also on that page where
RE: PrusaSlicer 2.6.0-alpha5 is OUT! And I was so hoping that the release notes would start with Fixed the seam algorithm so that they’re straight now and don’t look like the path of a drunken sailor. Allowed for smaller diameter of the seam and support painting tools. Implemented a straight line snapping mechanism for seams and support painting similar to the La version finale de PrusaSlicer 2.3 vient de sortir, avec les Supports peints, le Remplissage monotone et le Lissage ! Ironing is a nice feature that should be advertised more, imho. PrusaSlicer 2.3.0 (still in alpha) is implementing an improved version–along with paint on supports and paint-on z-seam alignment–that might make me switch! For more information, see: Releases · prusa3d/PrusaSlicer · GitHub.
Supports where no support is needed? Hello, I want to print a cylinder laying on the side. I understand that I need supports for the lower Infill patterns PrusaSlicer offers many infill patterns to choose from. When choosing an infill pattern, these are the main things to consider: Print speed Density per material used (better support I have a part that is intended to be welded out of 3/8″ steel plate. when it’s all assembled, there’s now way to see the inside. I want to 3d print a desktop version. But those internal cavities won’t support the top layers. Is there any way I can get inside the STL and paint supports in there? I could do Supports Everywhere but then I have more post processing.
adding support inside of hollow model Ok 1st post so be kind ! I have a model that has a part in the center that requires either an infill or a support , problem is if i use infill it uses a load of time and material as it infills the whole model, and i cant find a way to paint a support enforcer inside of the model, as it is not transparent until you slic it and then you can’t paint on
How do I use tree supports with PrusaSlicer?

RE: The painted supports are not generated On my home computer i have all the support from the 3mf project, but when i paint some more support like the pic above and slice it, i have nothing (see below) As detect bridging is on and it has don’t support bridges enabled its only generating supports in the inner ‚hole‘ for the perimeters, but that’s perfectly normal with that You can paint more to the right side of where the support is now with the Paint-on supports tool. I like the new Automatic painting option there, but if it doesn’t generate enough supports you can always paint more.
