I have 6x-8 heads on my 400 now and am going go the smaller chambered 6x-4 head. Is there any reason to keep the -8 heads? Would they go good with a super charged 400? BT

I purchase a rebuilt Pontiac 400 engine. It came with 6X heads. I also bought an Edelbrock Performer intake manifold. It looks like there is a port into the heads that is not covered by the intake. The port is just above the center water port. In the picture with the gasket, you can see a small gap at the top of this port. Does anyone know what this is? Thanks!
