Feat Every Level – All Classes: Allows you to pick a Feat / ASI at every level, starting at 2 and going up to 12. Might seem a tad excessive, but the previous limit of only 3 Feats / ASI (4 for Fighter and Rogue) was too frustrating for me. With this mod, you now get 11 Feats or ASI’s in total! Instant Level 12: Reduces the amount of XP cost for each level down to 1. So So the developers have stated playing through everything will take 75 to 100 hours yet the level cap is only 12. How is that going to work? Will leveling be so glacially slow that it’ll actually take that long to max out? Or will I hit level 12 sometime before that point and face the remaining 50+ hours not progressing my characters in any meaningful way?

So why did they max the level cap at 12? the amount of quests and xp i have gotten after level 12, i’m guessing it could of easily gone to level 14. But I don’t understand DnD that well, people are saying levels past 12 you start entering the territory of your hero being a demi god? I hear that the max level is 12 – what is this pricing system, seems like such a rip off In Daiblo 4 you can level up to 100 and that only cost $60 plus saeson passes and microtransaxtions including horse armour! I want quantitty over quality dammit!

Just looking to get some perspective here – I’ve just hit level 12, which I understand is max level. It feels slightly weird to not have my future experience go towards something useful. I can see in the mod manager that there are increased max level mods, that also allow higher level spells being used – is something like this worth it for a first-time play that is the most saddest excuse for a rpg ive ever heard, did the full release just release for act 2 then stop till dlc too? wouldnt surprise me

The cap is level 12. There is a mod that lets you up it to DnD’s max, which is 20, but only overall level, I believe, so you have to MC to hit it. UnlockLevelCurve is the name, I think. Neverwinter nights 1 + expansions = max lvl 40. At the end of the game main character becomes stronger than Maphistopheles Neverwinter nights 2 + expansion = max lvl 30. At the end of the game main character becomes stronger than kelemvor Baldur’s gate 3 = max lvl 12. Look for mods if you want more, but as Larian said, don’t expect official support beyond 12 as spells above this level become literally gamebreaking in D&D. They could cheat by locking a class to lvl 12 and use the multiclass feature to reach character lvl 20 though. Neverwinter nights 1 + expansions = max lvl 40. level 13+ is basically demigod/god territory, the abilities you get after 12 would be hard to make and/or balance around. I can understand why they’d set the max to 12. Level 13+ is definitely not ‚demigod‘ territory, And its nowhere near actual god levels, It’s powerful for sure, Crazy powerful, but it’s not demigod. Character max level :: Baldur’s Gate 3 General Discussions

I don’t play D&D, is there a lore reason you can’t go above level 12? Someone told me level 20 is basically a god but is it strictly a lore thing? I’m level 12 and have 98,000 extra experience. Not sure what that’d lead me to, but I got max level about 20 hours ago. At least some of the „carrot on a stick“ is lost when you no longer gain levels. If not a higher level cap, I In Dungeons & Dragons the max level cap is Level 20. For Baldur’s Gate 3, this could be different, since Level 20 is really powerful. But what could it be then? Its a reach for sure, but the original BG did the same thing. They cut us off at mid level and brought it back for two more expansions for a cap of 20 and 20+. NWN did the same thing, let us level to 20, then released more expansions that brought us into epic lvl territory.

Why Max Lvl 12? So after hitting lvl 12.. with a good deal of content left in Act 3 (and probably already have enough for 13) why is the game capped to lvl 12 and the enemy just not adjusting for relative to the party (say +1 or +2 lvls etc).

I heard that level 12 is max level. What happens once you hit it? Since you can’t level anymore, what is reason to keep playing the game? What can I get after level 12 other than newer weapons/armor? I haven’t played 5E tabletop but my understanding is that level 20 in 5E is more powerful or differently balanced than epic levels in 3 or 3.5E. expect maybe LVL 12 but not 20. Larian might be trying to leave room for expansions or a sequel. They might feel being painted into a corner if BG 3 is balanced around a LVL 20 cap. So, we know it’ll be between 10 and 20, but we won’t be able to go to 20. I know it’s because level 20 spells, mechanics and feats are mega busted and can basically turn your characters into demigods. But that’s half the fun. The journey to „semi-godhood“. Sure it won’t be in. But will the modding community make it happen? The problem with the level 12 cap is that you’re forced to split 8/4 if you want all your feats/asi’s, and this is terrible because there are power spike’s at both level 9 and level 5, but you miss both (or sacrifice a feat as well as drop to level 7 or 3 in one class). For example, the Vengeance Paladin gets access to Haste at level 9, and Warlocks get level 3 spell slots and So our party recently entered act 3, all of us are nearly max level (12). I understand why they don’t allow you to go much higher for both time commit they would have to do for class expansions and possibly balance (the game can already be unbalanced easily). I think they should unlock the ability to level past 12, however not in a single class, the ability to the latest BG3 Release Trailer shows shows the party at level 8 fighting a major antagonist. And there are 2 more which Larian (for some reason???) will show later, either in trailers or the text-heavy update posts. I know its only lvl 12 because of DnD rules etc. but how does progress armor wise works in those games ? can you get and use really cool good armor anytime you want ? or is there a level for it and do you still have some sort of „progress“ feeling after being max level ?

Sometimes you gain mlre exp if its not a favorouble outcome, because fights provide good exp. You just dont have to skip everything and try to do as much as possible (no matter the outcome) to be max level or close to max level in early act 3. If you really do everything (with any outcome) its near impossible not to be almost max
