Volunteers’ Week is a chance to celebrate volunteers and volunteering throughout the nation, and specifically here in Wrexham. Every year, AVOW holds a celebration of volunteers and volunteering

We’re celebrating volunteers week by sharing information about the different types of volunteering roles that are available in Mirus. Hear from Chris Parker, Head of Volunteering, as he celebrates and thanks our volunteers for the big impact they have on people living with cancer. What Does the Future of Volunteering Look Like?

You can enjoy rugby in Colwyn Bay, cricket in Rhos-on-Sea, sailing in Conwy and car rallying in the forests of North Wales. In May, the town of Llandudno hosts the Llandudno Victorian Extravaganza event.

Volunteers Week starts on the first Monday in June each year, providing a dedicated time to celebrate and recognise the invaluable contributions of volunteers. While the week’s starting day may vary annually, Volunteers Week consistently kicks off on the first Monday of June, ensuring a unified opportunity to honour the selfless efforts of volunteers nationwide. Volunteers’ Week 2025 Volunteers’ Week is an annual event which sees charities, voluntary groups, social organisations, and volunteers themselves come together to recognise the incredible impact that volunteering has in communities around the UK. The week will launch on Monday 2 June 2025 and will run through until Sunday 8 June

This week Cardiff and Vale University Health Board is celebrating Volunteers’ Week, and saying thank you to the hundreds of people who freely give their time to make such a difference to patients, services and staff. To mark this special week, we’ve been visiting care organisations across Wales to find out more about how they support the vital role volunteers play in their care settings, showcasing their impact on both the organisation and wider community. Through a series of powerful case study videos, volunteers share how their roles have helped them grow in Volunteering Wales Grants is a scheme funded by the Welsh Government to promote and improve volunteering in Wales. Volunteers Week is running from 3 to 9 June this year and, to mark the occasion, the Welsh Sports Association (WSA) is highlighting two members of staff who give their time back to the sport and leisure sector as volunteers. This year marks the 40 th anniversary of Volunteers Week, having started back in 1984.
