Today, winemaker Glenn Hugo continues the Girard tradition of making terroir-driven wines using an artisanal approach that meticulously focuses on making choices that respect the grapes and Napa Valley heritage at each step of the winemaking process in a dedicated state-of-the-art winery in Calistoga, Napa. Following a first career in restaurants, winemaker Glenn Hugo of Girard Winery found a natural affinity for blending grapes through constant tasting and adjustment, much like a master chef. Confusing, yes, but both winemakers have impressive histories: Glenn Hugo at Girard Napa Valley as well as B.R. Cohn Winery and Alison Crowe at Garnet Vineyards and a stint at Bonny Doon with Randall Grahm. They also both have a number of other Kirkland Signature Napa and Cabernet bottlings under their belts.
