In June 2016, we met as the City Region Cabinet and agreed that we would collaborate more formally going forward. This is about ensuring each part of the conurbation plays an equally important role. We will work as one to ensure the continued and accelerated growth and success for our city region, with each local authority playing a leading role. Currently the Region’s forests and woodlands cover around 60,000 hectares, but the strategy highlights that a further 9,000 hectares could be planted.
