I understand that there is one under the cowl vents and a second one is underneath the blower motor/heater box on the firewall. But isnt there other less known hidden VIN numbers on the car body?

Missing the original engine does hurt the value a bit. Please, if you run an ad, that you show pics of the Cowl tag, rear axle stamping, the transmission stamping, the non original DZ engine pad stamping. The POP, all of the key component stampings like distributor, carb. alternator. Dont leave potential buyers guessing. Hi! I have a 272 L78 block that I’m rebuilding. The stampings are often very faint, and hard to read as they were stamped on a rough cast area, not a machined area like on the engine pad. Worth a hard look, as a COPO motor is worth 8-10 times a decked 454.

I’m by no means a stamping or tag expert but the „MU“ suffix is correct for a 67 350/295 Camaro. All other tags and the VIN stamp on the engine block seem legit and matches the cars VIN tag.

Have a 69′ Camaro X-77 with an engine with a „DZ“ engine code and casting number 3956618 but cannot find a partial vin anywhere. Were all 69′ 302 engines stamped with a partial vin? If not, how can you tell if it is the original engine?
