To develop new partnerships with youth climate organizations in Indonesia, the Packard Foundation is issuing an open request for proposals to youth climate organizations. The David and Lucile Packard Foundation is a family foundation. We are guided by the enduring business philosophy and personal values of Lucile and David, who helped found one of the world’s leading technology companies. The David and Lucile Packard Foundation was created in 1964 by David Packard (1912–1996), the co-founder of the Hewlett-Packard Company, and Lucile Salter Packard (1914–1987). Throughout their lives in business and philanthropy, the Packards sought to use private funds for the public good, giving back to a society which enabled them to prosper.

In 1988, the Packard Foundation established the Packard Fellowships for Science and Engineering to allow the nation’s most promising early-career scientists and engineers flexible funding to take risks and explore new frontiers in their fields of study. Each year, the Foundation selects 20 Fellows from 50 invited institutions to receive individual grants of $875,000, Since 2013, the IRS has released data culled from millions of nonprofit tax filings.
