Cagiva and Ducati have a close history – once part of the same group – and the Gran Canyon is a product of the former close relationship. Powered by the long-running air-cooled V-twin that powers Ducati’s 900SS, the Gran Canyon was Cagiva’s entry in the important large trailbike market until 2000.

Test Cagiva Gran Canyon 900

Hi there – my first official post! My bike is 2000 Cagiva Gran Canyon equipped with the engine out of the 900SS. The heads are from the 750SS to increase torque; horsepower is down a bit. However, had the bike taken out to a dealer to have the 6K mile service done – oil, plugs, valve adjustment, new belts, etc. The dealer did a horrible job; bike was damaged Yet there’s something about these bikes that a niche group of riders finds irresistible, and owners are very passionate about them. For example, this Cagiva Gran Canyon has the engine from the wonderful Ducati 900SS, though it only pumps out about 70hp in this configuration. They say red is the fastest color, though. My Gran Canyon didn’t come with a tool kit and being so new to it I’m curious what you guys recommend. I’m only looking for the basics like say, a 10mm socket, __ allen wrenches, whatever tool for the front/rear wheel, etc.

This was a replacement for my 2000 Cagiva Gran Canyon (since sold), and it should fit pretty much any 900 Ducati motor of that era. 10 bucks, or the equivalent in beer.

I cannot find parts manuals for the original Mito from 1990-93. Does a parts manual exist for that version and where can I find a pdf? I am a new member and a ’new‘ Gran Canyon owner. I previously had a Duc 907 which I really enjoyed and when I decided to look for another one I found they are even scarcer than Gran Canyons.

I was reading the beast section, and the cagiva grancanyon is seriously underspoken. Its no HP2, but is ok on dirt, jeep trails and not horrific on Cagiva 10 K members · 0 posts a day Visit group Cagiva Gran Canyon Owners Group 1 K members · 0 posts a day Visit group Ducati DesertX World Group Love my Gran Canyon 900!
