QuickDESIGN – CIP BOBP QuickDESIGN Description Buy Starline 56-50 Spencer Brass Buy Starline 56-50 Spencer Brass. Starline Brass prides itself on producing the highest quality brass case available. Their brass is comprised of 70% copper and 30% zinc and is vertically drawn during the manufacturing process which results in more uniform wall thickness. Taylor’s carries Blakeslee Boxes for both 56-50 and .44-40 Spencers, so you can skirmish like the troops did in the 1860s. My one beef with Taylor’s Spencer carbine was the trigger pull. My test gun had a 19-pound trigger pull that made accurate shooting a challenge.

That being said are Spencer Carbines in 56-50 Spencer good for deer hunting ? That would be my only reason for buying it. He is also selling a 1886 Winchester in .45-90 for $1200 with dies and 100ct Brass but I wanted to know more about the Spencer to see if its the better deal. Thanks to all who reply. There is a lot of information scattered within this forum about reloading for original Spencers but I’m having a hard time pinpointing information on the brands of brass to use and specifically information on whether Starline 56-50 brass works in original Spencer carbines.
