Best Race/Start To Play Solo? :: Kenshi General Discussions

Di: Ava

Kenshi Beta: Solo Play Season 1, Episode 1 After killing off my 24 imported squad mates from the Alpha version, i once again start off on my solo play style as i run round, finding ways to deal with

Hive Prince is 100% the best for stealth skills. I recall joining the assassin/thief faction in The Hub to be a remarkably easy way to start, too. I forget what the fee is to join, maybe 15k, but then you have free access to their lockpicking and assassination training dummies, as well as a merchant for fencing your stolen goods. For power-training stealth, just go to a town They won’t release you. You need to covertly raise your skills and get stronger – break out at night and very cautiously sneak around to search for food among the houses and unlock things. Do your best to avoid guards, and if things get worrisome get into a cage and play the slave again. Eventually you can either bust out a bunch of other slaves as a distraction

In this guide, we’ll go through the different races that are available to play in the world of Kenshi. As recruitable characters are also playable, the character you start with is not the be-all and end-all. You can vary your faction characters to your whim, so don’t feel obliged to stick with one race per playthrough. I personally use some mods that buff the hivers in general and allow them to use some armor in a lore-friendly manner. To me, it makes them a viable alternative to the other races since the player, in vanilla, cannot acquire more than 30 units. If you have a mod that boosts that member limit, then it isn’t particularly worrisome. Do you prefer solo or squad playstyle? I prefer solo, definitely, and every run starts solo and stays that way for a long time, but something always happens to make it stop being solo. In my current run my solo character was heading up the river to see Armour King when a voice from under the water said, „Do what you will, human“ Extremely rare event. I couldn’t say no.

I prefer to solo (no „companion“ or „squad“) open-world games. For example, in all the Fallout’s, the Gothic’s, Risen’s, Elex, etc., I rarely used a „companion“. I just prefer it that way. If I search this Kenshi forum for the word „solo“, I see there is plenty of discussion about it. My question is: Is it feasible for a new player to solo the game? Or is solo’ing in Kenshi more for Im just getting beaten to death by any random hungry bandits. Is it possible to level up toughness solo and without abuse?

I took 10 newgame until I start to play it like actual Kenshi, maybe you still have some more things left to see in vanilla, such as fun money exploit or dramatic way to feed yourself to beakthings. Solo skeleton is pretty fun and lacks many of the dangers a human/shek has like starving or being eaten. The biggest problem is early game when you can barely afford repair kits, but you can train up near a place with a cheap/free repair bed such at black desert city or burn’s tower. As for power level of a single character, with a bit of movement micromanagement you can have a

Hm maybe I should play a Duo/Trio then

What are each race’s benefits for a strictly solo run?

so far, i’ve used the Meitou No-Dachi and the Meitou Staff they are effective but My dude is a big bad ass Shek and those weapons feel underwhelming. Polearms for one, attack like a sword, which feels a little silly, since they should have like whirlwind attacks or at least AoE that hits surrounding enemies. My question is what is the best weapon class and I have a group of mostly shek fighters with some green/scorchlanders. I’m wondering, what would the best race be for crossbow(wo)men to add to a group that would have a heavy front line?

I’m the kind of guy who would rather play as the lone wolf wanderer rather than teaming up with a bunch of people. Doing a solo route in this game seems next to impossible though because of the incredibly annoying „Unconscious“ system. My guy has been unconscious for about three IRL hours now (!) with no signs of recovering (Stomach at -6). See, I’m the other way around, I started playing Kenshi as a Hiver Exile, because why would I trust recommendations of what is easy and hard in a game I didn’t even really know how it worked?

Looking for some ideas on a new game solo run. Using most standard mods (including xp buffs) so low level stuff shouldnt be too much of an issue. I don’t have a ton of time in Kenshi but ive already exhausted the „Tech Hunter/Party of Six“ theme, fully explored the ashlands, killed cat-lon, etc. Looking for a viable solo build (heavy probably). Mostly looking for

Best arm depends really on gear you are planning and role. 1. Single lost arm – depends – if you use heavy weapons (except falling sun)/hackers/blunts, lifter arms may be better. Generally, the same rules as with both arms apply. 2. For balance, KLR series is great, as long as you don’t plan on going with stealth and thievery. However, the bonuses these arms give are Kenshi – A free-roaming squad based RPG focusing on open-ended sandbox gameplay features rather than a linear story. Be a trader, a thief, a rebel, a warlord, an adventurer, a farmer, a slave, or just food for the cannibals. Research new equipment and craft new gear. Purchase and upgrade your own buildings to use as safe fortified havens when things go bad, or use them to

Should I take medium armour (turtleneck, drifter boots, dustcoat) or armour like samurai armour if I play solo melee? IMO, you will slowly move through armor selection based upon weapon choice and character stat/skill development. Eventually, you’ll end up in mostly Samurai armor. But, you don’t want to start off that way. As suggestions above indicate for the I woud like to know any good place (peaceful) to set up my base being solo by the moment. If possible with good resources and not too much enemies around. A solo run is also not super hard once you get past the very start, it just takes a while to get some ok toughness, then its smooth sailing, I just wiped out the holy nation solo/unarmed.

Subreddit for Kenshi from Lo-Fi Games, the revolutionary mix of RTS and RPG with a huge dystopian sword-punk world to explore. Choose to be a thief, a bandit, a rebel, a warlord or a mercenary. This is a good way to ruin the game for yourself. I’d say get off the forum go play the game for atleast 30 hours. If you still on 1 guy mining copper then come back and look for help. Getting starter tips for this game honestly ruins 80% of the experience. To me, Kenshi is really difficult to play solo, or in small teams I like to play as, which I think is fine! I think it’s great that you as the player have to adapt to the constraints of the world. Although, I wish there were more ways to level up your stats that didn’t require you

For the sake of simplicity, I will assume you have started a „Wanderer“ scenario for your first try. No, seriously, you should. It offers some money to start with, a reasonably safe location to get to grips with the game and does somewhat limit the aggro of looking after a bunch of noobs. This guy in the centre of the screen with a tag over their head is your character. It The „best“ way is probably stealing everything. But then you play what you prefer, it’s not a job. I started pulling stuff on the guard, levling skills and loot. It was certainly more fun than mining^^ I did a play through as a exiled hiver queen with the start that gives you like four people with backpacks and building gear with a bunch of hiver mods that was alot of fun. If you have ever wanted to be a slaver download the paradise falls mod, it included many different starts of varying difficulties that allow you to rp as a slaver.

How do you guys play as a solo character? I was considering the man and a dog start just for the sake of giving my character a companion and then thought about healing and slavery so i recruited Griffin and Bard(Made him short and am training his strength so he can be a Dwarf.) in HN Are you guys able to solo play even with a modded character? e.g theres a mod

As soon as I start, I’m branded as an escaped slave even if I go to a cage straight away. Then a guard took off my shirt and said something about trying to escape. I don’t understand what’s going on. It doesn’t seem like it’s supposed to work this way, but I’m not sure.

Not quite true. Just depends how much risk you want to shoulder. And if you’re playing solo in a game like Kenshi, I assume you’re fine with risk. That said, ruin diving is a great source of big income as a solo character, it just takes some upfront work first. Go to the hives and train your stealth up to 80+. I mean with no other character but the one you started with? I would like to see someone try this. maybe become a beast master and have a bunch of pack bulls and bone dogs to help you.
