In my area, most elementary schools have before and after school care for a fee. Before school is generally breakfast and art or board games in the cafeteria. Starts at 7 or 7:30. The other thing many two-parent families do is have one parent go in early and leave early for pickup, and one parent do morning drop off and stay later at work.
