She completed additional coursework through Elizabeth City Mary embarked on a dedicated journey to turn this vision into reality. In 2017, Emerald School of Excellence achieved official non-profit status, paving the way for its launch. Two years later, on September 3rd, 2019, Mary’s unwavering dedication culminated in the opening of the first Recovery High School in the Carolinas.
